My first Safari

Ok first off I need to let you all know I don't have access to the internet hardly at all so I'm not ignoring you at all. I miss you all and have so many stories to tell you already. I love this place.
Ok so today I went on safari and I must say so far it's my favorite day here in South Africa. It's 6:30pm and I'm going to try and keep this simple 'cause it's dinner time and we've been on the road most of today so I'm HUUUUNNGRY.
We got to the hotel after a 5 hour or so drive from Johannesburg. (I hate johannesburg...so dirty and dingy) What a long ride. We arrived at the hotel at 2:00pm and went for a quick dip and then at 3pm and we went on our first drive. Right out of the gate we saw deer and then we saw some girafes. I loved the girafes. So beautiful but not as tall as you might think. Then we drove for a while and didn't see anything. Then a few elephants came out of no where and then a leopard and then some really cool birds and then another dry spell...nothing. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN A HEARD OF ELEPHANT THAT WERE FEEDING. One decided jumping up to get the leaves off the branches was to hard so he went and pushed the whole flippin tree down. What a sight to see I'm telling you. I loved and I have to be up for 5:30am tomorrow for another drive and the dinner bell just rang so thats my queue.
I miss you all. Mom I tried calling but didn't get through as you can read we are ok and made it out of crapy Jo'Burg.
MUAH MUAH MUAH!

P.S. sorry for the spelling I'm just so excited I'm ready to explode must go and talk to allan about what I saw!

how I got to south Africa alive

it all starts at yvr of course, we arrive on time to check our baggage and of course we run into problems checking in...my name is spelt wrong on my ticket. After waiting for about an hour in the check in line wefinally get through and get to our gate. all is well getting to heathrow minus the screaming baby of course. We arrive and ask around to see if it's safe to go and see buckingham palace.or big ben we were told to stay in the airport. We didn't find out where to board our plane until half an hour before so it was a mad dash for all the passengers to get to the gate. We get on our SA flight and we were so impressed by the food and how fun the flight crew was we we wondered why air Canada sucks so much. So our SA flight lasts 11.5 hours and poor Allan had to hear me throw a tantrum at hour 7 I felt so cramped and wanted off so bad I was willing to Learn to skydive. We finally arrive at cape town and am waiting for luggage Allan finds his first and the we start noticing that everybody is gone and I'm standing there with no luggage. They lost it. So no Allan and I go and eat and get him settled into our beach house. We go to bed and wake up the next morning and call the airline they've found my luggage. Yessss today was a great day I have my luggage back.
We spent the whole day shopping and site seeing in cape town. My goodness it's beautiful. Took some pictures and walked for four hours and we are going again tomorrow.
Oh and for those of you in sunny BC it has been storming since we arrived.
Well that's enough for now it's off to bed.
Miss you all.
Ps took some great pictures today.

HOTEL, PREDICTIONS AND A PLEAD

Ok so I haven't left yet! We booked our flight to South africa in January/February and it's taken so long to just get to August let alonE September 7th. So I though I would give you the low down as to what we have planned so far.
Attached is the link to our hotel, where we will be staying when we are on safari. I'll keep you posted on those dates.

Dates:_Sept 16 to Sept 20 __

We are really excited to get to Kruger National Park to see as much as we can. We'll be on 2 day rides per day and we'll be there for a total of 5 nights. So our options are open to add on night rides or hiking trips or whatever else it is they offer during our 5 night stay in Kruger.

My prediction of our stay in Kruger is:
We are going to arrive in the early afternoon and we won't see much the first day. We'll see a couple different types of deer and some really cool birds. Second and third day I'm going to see my first wild Zebra, Elephant, and warthog. Allan was telling me when the get scared they warn the rest of the pack by puttin their small stubby tail straight up in the air and run away as fast as their short legs will take them. So this I can't wait to see. And then day four and five we'll see a Lion and a Leopard. Then we'll add stuff on to our safari like a hike and a night ride and a beautiful dinner to end it off.

Bets:
When will Lexi see her first Lion?

Excited Level: (1 being not excited at all 10 being bouncing off the walls)
3 - slowly I'll get to 10. For the love of Pete someone knock me out for 25 days so I can wake up and go on my adventure! PLEASE!!!!!
